(1944 - 13 Mar 2005)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

   We have more sad news again this morning.  Andrea Vernon Davis ('62) passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005
of Pulmonary Fibrosis while awaiting a lung transplant.

From Pam Wright Owen ('62) of VA - 03/14/05:

Carol,
I just received an e-mail from Bonnie Farmer Dixon ('62) that our good friend and classmate, Andrea Vernon
Davis ('62)
passed away on Sunday, March 13.  I don't have any other information, but imagine something will
be in the Daily Press today or tomorrow.
Please pass this on.
Thanks.
Pam Wright Owen ('62)

   Oh, no!  Thanks so much for passing this along to us, Pam.  I remember Andrea so fondly.  We were in the same P.E.
class when she was a senior and I was a freshman.  She was such a joy - always fun and kind to me and made the class
so much more enjoyable.  She had absolutely the most beautiful green eyes I've ever seen, before or since.  I'm so sorry
to learn of her passing.

From Cheryl Mays Howard ('66) of VA - 03/14/05:

From Brownie Shaffer Haracivet ('62) of the Virgin Islands - 03/15/05:

Dear Carol,
One of my dear friends from long ago in Stuart Gardens has passed away.
While in VA for Christmas I spoke to her on the telephone and she said she would
not last until Spring. Her sense of humor was still strong.
Andrea, NNHS '62, was a wonderful person and I will never forget her.
Brownie Shaffer Haracivet - '62

   Thank you, Brownie.  Neither will I.

From Cheryl Mays Howard ('66) of VA - 03/14/05:

Andrea was a member of Warwick Assembly of God. We are members of Liberty Baptist but were
at WAG for 17 years. That is how I knew her. Our daughters were friends as well in youth group.
She was a faithful member and devoted Christian. Thanks for asking...she was sweet. She died
of Pulmonary Fibrosis, and was at the hospital for a lung transplant. Died before with her family
around her.
Peace & Blessing,
Cheryl

    Thanks so much, Cheryl.

Amazing Grace
Words by John Newton 1779

 Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!

Thro' many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis'd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be forever mine.
