We have even more sad news this morning.
Marjorie S. Perzan Jackson ('4_), passed away in Rainelle, WV on Friday,
March 28, 2008. Her younger sister,
Rose Perzan Campbell ('5_),
died almost a year ago:

RAINELLE, W.VA. - Marjorie S. Jackson began her journey to the gardens and
nursery of her Lord, March 28, 2008. She was a resident of Heartland of Rainelle, W.Va. She was born in Moseley, Va., on May 12, 1929 and was a resident of Newport News for 60 years. Her life was devoted to her family as a homemaker and later as a caregiver of terminally ill friends and family. She was of the Southern Baptist faith, participated in Home Dem, Women's Auxiliary of Firefighters and Women's Auxiliary of VFW. Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Battalion Chief Haskel L. Jackson and her dearest caregiver, Raymond Lucheese. She was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Perzan, had one sister, Rose Marie Campbell; four brothers, Charles Shank, Joseph R. Perzan, William E. Perzan and Frank Perzan. She leaves behind one son, Joseph Lloyd Jackson; two daughters, 'Dee' Hayes and Ann Marie Wikstrom; three grandchildren, Zenna Murphy, Amanda Yates and Meredith Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Alison and Grayson Murphy. According to her wishes, her body was donated to further the study of Alzheimer's disease at the University of Virginia. A memorial is planned at a future date in Newport News, at one of her favorite outdoor parks. The children request donations to The Alzheimer's Foundation in lieu of flowers.

| I had lost track of Marjorie some years ago. We went to school, played basketball and lived close together in the Deer Park/Beaconsdale area. I remember Charles and later Dee and other children. I always thought a lot of Marjorie; she was special. |

Joey, Dee, and Ann - I just
happened across Margie's death while searching for someone else named
Jackson. Your mother was a very special person to all who new her. She will always have a special place in my heart for everything she did for Jeff, Susan and me when we left Lewis in 1982. She gave us a home for several months and helped me through a very trying time for many months to follow. Jeff and Susan were very special to her as she was to them. We all know that she is in a better place than we are, and certainly wearing a beautiful crown for all the many kind things she did in her lifetime. While it has been many years since I spoke with her or new what was going on in her life, she has always been in my thoughts. I know what it is like to lose a Mother - it leaves a void that can't be filled. Just find strength in knowing what a wonderful person she was and how lucky you were to have been her children. It was indicated that a memorial will be held later in Newport News. I assume a notice will be placed in The Daily Press. If not, could one of you please let me know when and where the memorial will be held. My e-mail is emcree4503@aol.com .
