in my Homeroom 209!). I'll 'fess up to the truth. I couldn't remember or determine the Class to which Dean belonged.
And we don't have a Contact page for the Class of 1968.

Hi Carol -- just one last comment about the performance of "Bugler's Holiday". You put into words what I was trying to say in my initial comments about their performance:

"And of course, a special everlasting thanks to Julius Benton ('58), Johnny Nickey ('59) and Chuck Anspach ('60) for sharing
their tremendous talent with us all and leaving us to forever recall something that astoundingly beautiful and magical."

For anyone who has an appreciation of music and how difficult it is to achieve such perfection, their performance was an astoundingly beautiful and magical moment, suspended forever in time. That may sound overly dramatic to some, but -- you just had to be there to fully appreciate it.

Many thanks to those three fabulous trumpet players for giving me (and I'm sure countless others) a moment that brings pleasure whenever it is recalled.

Thanks, Ronnie! I will admit that in my childlike wonder of practically everything, I am sometimes prone to overuse of superlatives -
but not this time. The words all seem inadequate.

The 40th Reunion of the Class of 1965 will be held
on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, 2005
at the Point Plaza in Newport News.

Mr. Etheridge's memorial Newsletter has almost tripled in length today. Not only did we add the complete
Guest Book from the funeral home, But Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA, bless his sweet heart, sent a full report
from the Memorial Service, including a program and two images. Thank you so much, David!

The exterior of the Boys Club of the Virginia Peninsula. The janitor, "Max", was gracious and allowed me to take a few photos inside the building and the trophy case. He began working for the Boys Club when it was located on 28th Street next to the bridge, then to Jefferson Avenue and to the present location, which is 429 Thornhill Drive, Newport News. It is in the Stoneybrook area of Denbigh.	Close up of the sign on the exterior of the building.	Here is the wing, Gym dedicated to Herbie Morewitz. movie. Especially where Lassie rescues Timmy and they go on to kill all the Nazis. And Mussolini.

   David dear, you are sooo hysterically funny!  Strangely, I remember slightly different lyrics....

I am reminded of a fella I once dated from Great Bridge High School or Deep Creek High School or somewhere over there
in Chesapeake. He told me that he had to stop watching Lassie because it was so scary it gave him nightmares. At the time
I thought he was a super wuss, so I stopped seeing him. Perhaps I misjudged him. Perhaps he was watching the version you
described, and I was wrong.

Naaaah, I was right.

Here's my two cents on pronunciations. I suppose I always said Warrick and didn't pronounce the "w" in the wick. However, I have never said NewPERT News, which is how I have heard many natives pronounce it, including my brother (Mel, HHS -56). I always say NewPORT News.......and it's not Norfuk, it's NorFOLK. However, SufFOLK doesn't sound right.......it sounds better saying Suffuk. Having said all this, I'm glad I'm from Hampton......which is only pronounced one way.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! to Dave Spriggs ('64 - of VA) for all that marvelous music on the CDs. Check is in the mail. Everyone should order these discs.........all the hits in one tidy package.

While visiting my sister (Nat Woolard Cunningham, HHS, '60) this weekend in Tampa, we sampled all five discs. She was disappointed that "One Summer Night" was not included. When she met her first love, that was "their song" back in 1958. But hey, I was happy to see "Gloria," of course. We got excited about the little blip titled WGH - 1964 News. We thought it would be some real news from back then. Alas, it was just the station announcement.

Oh, my , Gloria - I beg to disagree - on practically everything but Warwick and Suffolk! "Nor-folk" is in Nebraska! But then it wouldn't
be natural for a Typhoon to completely agree with a Crabber, would it - even after 40 years! WILD GIGGLES!

I thought of two more words guaranteed to send my father up the wall when not pronounced "The Right Way" - i.e., his way! They
are um-BREL-la and in-SUR-ance. When I moved the the Midwest in 1971 and heard people saying UM-brella and IN-surance as a
matter of course, I was pretty sure I could also hear my daddy rolling over in his grave in Hampton National Cemetery! Come to think
of it, Daddy died 45 years ago today. My, my, my. Time is such a weird commodity.

I have raved on and on about Dave's CDs so much that I've depleted my adjectives. They're just the best. I'm glad you're enjoying
yours!

Hi, Carol:

I know all about a PC crashing. My desktop crashed while I was performing routine maintenance, why I will never know. I lost all applications and data, including a extensive Address Book in Microsoft Office 2003.

I will probably never rebuild it back, since I have lost so many email addresses. All efforts to recover the data have failed, mainly because of all the security changes in Microsoft Windows.

It gets ugly, so I hope the issues with your PC are easy to fix, and you will be up and running again soon.

Thanks, Joe. I've talked with five different specialists now - who offered five different opinions. Lots of words, no solutions just yet
I think what we're going to have to do is back everything up on discs (shudder!) and buy another copy of Windows and reinstall it and
reformat everything, and the whole prospect sickens me. Even when I had a houseful of home-grown tech reps, I don't think we ever
lived through a reformatting procedure without losing something. I figure that the 8700 + messages I have saved in my Road Runner
accounts will be history. My nausea levels increase hourly....

Carol, was your Dr. Nelms father of Chandler Nelms (HHS - '63)? Chandler was one of the blond gorgeous ones......and got Best Dressed in the Hall of Fame.

Yes, ma'am, he was indeed! Chandler had an older brother, equally gorgeous, whom I believe was named Nowell Darden
Nelms, Jr., and who used the name Darden. Dr. and Mrs. Nelms (if I recall correctly, her name was Jean) were both fine looking
people as well - but, OH, MY GLORY - those sons could stop traffic!
