Marines.TogetherWeServed.com (TWS) - What we are about!
Marines.TWS was conceived to be a different kind of website focused entirely on preserving the spirit of the Corps while helping all members of the "Brotherhood" stay connected. The site is completely free of the distraction of commercial advertising nor is it combined with data for other Armed Services in a large confusing website. Instead, we have devised a website where every Marine can share their Marine Corps heritage and stories, whether combat or peacetime, in order to remain connected to their Brother Marines and close family members of those that have passed. TogetherWeServed.com is as unique as the Marines we exist to serve.

3,700 Members in just over 200 days!
The growth of TogetherWeServed.com has been prolific, due largely to all the invitations sent by existing Members, so we would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to invite other Marines. Please remember - Marines with whom you have lost touch may still be in contact with another TWS Member, so please continue to invite as many Marines as possible as ultimately, as the website grows, the Marines you are seeking will be found! Additionally, by listing comprehensive service information in your profile, you maximize the likelihood that Marines you served with will be able to find you!

Inviting a Marine couldn't be simpler. The invite form can be found by clicking on the special 'Invite' tab on the left hand side of your Profile Page. By simply entering the name and e-mail address of the Marine you wish to invite, a formal invitation asking him or her to join you at Marines.TogetherWeServed.com will be e-mailed to the recipient. As of June 1st, 2004, the top 3 Inviters on Marines.TogetherWeServed.com are as follows:

  1. Baldwin, Ron (cac-7), Cpl - 333 Invites
  2. DeGuise, Joseph (Skipper), Capt - 220 Invites
  3. Canright, Robert, 1stSgt - 135 Invites

Important New Features on Marines.TogetherWeServed.com!

  1. The ability to post an "Unlocated Marine" Profile: If you are searching for a Devil Dog you knew in the past chances are that there is a current or future TWS Member who may still be in touch with that Marine. We've created a facility for TWS Members to post a comprehensive profile of the Marine they are searching for that other Members can easily review. Hint: go to the Search tab and click on "Search for Unlocated Marines". The person who posts the Unlocated Marine profile is now the custodian of that Profile and can receive information from others which may assist in the tracking down of the Marine. To post an "Unlocated Marine" Profile, click on the Home Page tab and then on the "Remember an Unlocated Marine" link near the bottom of the page.
  2. Improved "Discussion Board" Format: We've tweaked the format of the Discussion Board (click on the "Forum" tab) to make it more user-friendly. The Discussion Board is a place where you can interact with other Marines on just about any topic, from scuttlebutt to serious political issues; unit reunions or someone selling a Harley, you can find it on the discussion board, in a fun, easy to read format.
  3. Close Family Member Remembrance Profiles: We've yet another feature unique to TogetherWeServed.com, the ability for close Family Members of Deceased, Fallen, MIA or Unlocated Marines to join the website on behalf of their Marine and build a comprehensive Profile that describes (memorializes) the entire service and/or achievements of their Marine. Now everyone who has ever earned the title can be recognized on the site, whether they are still with us or not. The Family Member that builds the profile becomes the "custodian" of that Profile and can interact with other TWS members on behalf of their Marine. If you know of anyone who may wish to take advantage of this new feature please pass the scoop along to them by sending them an invite, or, ask them to request an invite from the homepage at: www.marines.togetherweserved.com.

Understanding that TogetherWeServed.com profile pages can seem complex at first, we've created a list of tips and pointers to help you navigate the site more easily. Please follow this Link for assistance.

Your personal profile on TogetherWeServed.com is thorough because the more service information you provide, the more information the server has to use when searching for those Devil Dogs you served with. Every piece of service information you enter into your own profile is instantly compared to the information provide by other members. When the server finds a match, it tells you by placing a link to that Marine's profile on the "Also There" link found under each service detail listed within your profile. Therefore, if you want to maximize your ability to find Marines you served with, enter as much of your service history as possible in your profile. Pass the word - Invite other Marines!
Marines.TWS relies on its Members to not only ensure that only Marines will join our website but also to allow it to grow quickly. If we assume that each Marine Member knows other Marines and they in turn know others, by the simple process of each Member inviting a minimum of two Marines the website will grow very quickly, and those old buddies you're looking for will be found! The process of inviting other Marines couldn't be simpler. Just click on the "Invite" tab on the within your profile homepage, or, refer other Mairnes you know to visit the entry page at www.marines.togetherweserved.com where they may request their own invite.

Please note, If you have already invited a Marine and you don't yet see that they have joined, please nudge them to do so either by sending another invite or directing them to the Login Page of www.marines.togetherweserved.com.
