We have yet another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter. Bill McLaughlin passed away in Newport News at the age of 76. Bill distinguished himself as a track star during his days at NNHS:

In the morning paper there is a Bill
McLaughlin listed in the obits. It doesn't say so, but he was a graduate of
NNHS. Could have been as late as Feb. 49.

William Paul McLaughlin
| NEWPORT NEWS -
William Paul McLaughlin, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at
Sentara Heart Hospital, Norfolk. Born in Newport News, he was a lifelong
Peninsula resident. He worked in auto sales with Suttle Motors, retiring in
1992 after 25 years of service. He was inducted into the City of Newport
News Track Hall of Fame in March 1989 for his achievements in track where he
held numerous state records. He also was an avid golfer and a member of the
Peninsula Golf Association. Mr. McLaughlin was preceded in death by his
loving wife, Joan Marie McLaughlin. He is survived by his son, Buck
McLaughlin and wife, Sara, of Yorktown; his daughter, Jeannie McLaughlin of
Newport News; five grandchildren, Jennifer Gallo, Chris Lewis, Ian, Savana,
and Will McLaughlin; and three great-grandchildren, Sierra Brushwood, Jack
and Joanie Gallo. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 22, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A graveside service will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Peninsula Memorial Park by Chaplain
Will Lowrance. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home. Published in the Daily Press from 7/20/2007 - 7/21/2007. Guest Book |
