From Tim Parsons ('73) - 10/15/04:

Carol,
Thought you might like the tune of the old Nachman's commercial.
Tim

WOWZERONI, Tim!  I don't know where you find these treasures, but I'm beginning to believe you have magical properties!
Thanks so much!  This is a jewel!

I didn't want to lose the other great wav file which Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA had sent us previously, so I created a new page:

http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/lerners.html - and yes, it's quite lame at the moment!

From Nancy Bigger Alligood ('56) of VA - 10/15/04:

Hey Carol,

I have been out of the loop for several weeks and am trying to catch up on your newsletters over the past weeks.  Two of us from my travel
agency escorted 40 people on a 2 week tour out west in September visiting the National Parks and Canyons.  What sights we saw - everyone
needs to visit the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Bryce Canyon, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Little Bighorn Battlefield,
Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore
.  I have never experienced these natural wonders in the USA.  How wonderful!!  If you haven't been,
please go and enjoy!

Since my return, my dear friend Evelyn Fryer Fish ('58) has been in town and has kept me busy with one party after another. I spent three
weekends at
Buckroe Beach where I saw and visited so many NNHS classmates.  (Sorry, Joe Madagan ('57 of FL) , you missed a GREAT
time.)  It was such fun and like a mini NNHS reunion of many classes. Lots of classmates from 1956, 1957 and 1958 plus other classes.

I leave on October 26 for 2 weeks in South Africa where we will escort 26 Warwick Travelers on a great adventure.  I am looking forward to the
wonders of South Africa and the photo safaris we will go on.  And, I might mention the South African Wineries and Diamond Factories!!  WOW!!

You guys have a GREAT class reunion.  If you come in early and have some free time, please stop by to see me on Friday at Warwick Travel
in the old LaVogue Building on Warwick Boulevard.  We are located at 10858 Warwick Boulevard, between J. Clyde Morris Boulevard and Main
Street.

Your NNHS classmate and friend,
Nancy

Hey, Nancy!  Such fun you're having!  How wonderful for you!  I'm leaving Fayetteville Friday morning at about 7:15.  I trust that will
give me ample time to stop by your office to visit with you before meeting several of the "kids" from '65 prior to Friday night's festivities.
Thanks so much for the invitation!

That reminds me, Kiddies - any further updates on exactly when and where we're meeting???

From Jimmy Todd ('63) of AL - 10/15/04:

I bought the first bicycle that I had to pay for at Tidewater Motorcycle. Dad would take me uptown every
Saturday morning to pay for my papers at the Daily Press building and then we would walk down 25th street
to Tidewater Motorcycle so I could make the payment.  Bucky Glenn ('61) and I would pick up our papers
at Bunn's Texaco on the corner of 25th and ????.

Thanks, Jimmy!  What a neat memory!

From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 10/17/04:

OK, the short wav file of a cycle pulling away on Tidewater Motorcycle is nice, but don't you want a
recognizable motorcycle song?

Lyrics: http://www.xs4all.nl/~maroen/engels/lyrics/borntoru.htm

Why, certainly, David!  Thanks so much!  It's perfect, as always.

From Tom Norris (HHS - '73) of VA - 10/16/04:

Carol .... I was checking the CRT section of the website .... the picture of CRTC #91 from 1951 was taken in front
of Atlanta Lunch (note the sign) at 2413 1/2 Jefferson Ave. Does the route sign on the front of the bus say "Colored"????
I can only read part of it .... and don't remember a route that would have that sequence of letters. Did blacks have their own
bus that early on???? I remember the segregated buses with the line across the back floor where the blacks had to sit, but
don't remember a separate bus. Makes sense though .... maybe Bruce has details. Address came from the 1952 NN City
Directory ... and I am not sure of ANY whites that would want to ride a bus to that part of town.

Later :-)

Hey, Babe - nice detective work!  Thanks!

CRTC 170 and 143 are also in front of Atlanta Lunch (look at the building structure as compared to the previous pic).

I have about a dozen or so CRT pics to scan ... one I took myself and others from various yearbooks. I have a very good
1951 closeup.

Thanks, Sweetie!  We'll look forward to seeing them - if you ever stay in town long enough to get to your scanner!  Have fun up
there in Connecticut!

From Tim Parsons ('73) - 10/17/04:

Tim was home nursing a cold, and took the time to send us a vast collection of wondrous surprises - not a single one of which I've
had time to process.  EEEK!!!  Thanks so much, Tim!  They really are delightful, and I'll get them done as early as I'm able next week -
following the Reunion.

From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 10/15/04:

I don't know how he did it, but Dave found time even at this eleventh hour to send me something WAAAAY cool - and once more,
I've not had time to process it.  Keep the faith, Gentlemen!  And thanks, David!

From Cheryl Mays Howard ('66) of VA - 10/18/04:

John is going as an electrical contractor to Iraq ... I know ...... I have said it all!  He wants to retire from Virginia
Power so badly and this will enable that ... I cannot tell him not to go. He leaves this Sunday for Texas for 2 weeks
and then on to that so called "safe" green zone in Baghdad.
Please lift him up in prayer and remember me as well. It will be a new challenge for me!
Peace & Blessing,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I'm too stunned and flabbergasted to say ANYTHING!  Of course, we'll keep you BOTH in our prayers!  Thanks for letting
us know!

From Ron Miller (59) of NC - 10/18/04:

Hi Carol --
I see Billy Schroding ('65 of TN), co-captain of the '65 (track) team, a couple of times a year. We both officiate track & field
meets at East Tenn State U, where he went to college. I'm not sure if he has email, but I'll contact him and see if I can get him
to check in to the NNHS pages if he does.
Ron

WOWZERS, Ron!  I haven't seen Billy in forty-eleven years!  Yes, please tell him hi for us, and ask him to come visit our pages!

From my brother-in-law, Miles Nowitzky (Granby HS, '50) of NC - 10/19/04:

Go here to watch a funny video - "John Edwards Attends to His Hair":

http://www.drudgereport.com/

   Thanks, Miles!

From Thelma Spade Roberts ('57) of VA - 10/19/04:

The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting
free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you
a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected
animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/

Thanks, Thelma!  This is fast and easy and very worthwhile!

Y'all take care of each other.  I hope to see many of you very, very soon!

                                   Love to all, Carol
