Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Only ONE MORE DAY to the Glorious Super-Duper Spectacular-Spectacular Reunion!!!
I am SO EXCITED now, I'm about to POP!!! Looky-looky one more time at all the people coming:
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/reunion2004-attending.html
SUNDAY OCTOBER 24th
BRUNCH (NO HOST):
After partying into the early morning, c'mon down
around 10:00
for the Omni Champagne Sunday Brunch. Share reunion stories, exchange
addresses, and say your goodbyes
to your Classmates before departing for home. Just let us know on the
Reservation Form that you plan to join us
so that the Omni Staff can seat us all together.
A very Happy
Birthday today to Albert Dorner ('66) of VA and Belinda Fortner
Langston ('70) of VA!
See you Saturday, Albert!

And speaking of birthdays, today is the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Coach Julie Conn!
From Me ('65) of NC - 10/21/04:
TA-DAH!!! I finished the 1964 page of the new FOOTBALL section:
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/FOOT-B-64.html
Next week I'll continue working
on the section. Normally I wouldn't release a whole new section with just
one of its pages,
but time is short, I promised to have that done before
the Reunion, and when
have you ever known me to behave normally,
anyway?
FRIDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 22nd:
We are planning an informal party (casual attire) on
Friday night, October 22nd, from 7 PM
to midnight. All NNHS Alumni are invited to attend. There will be a cash
bar and light hors d-oeuvres. We didn't want a loud band or DJ getting
in the way of re-acquaintances and conversation, so we chose to set up our own
sound system with oldies CDs, and there will be a dance floor,
because no one can stand still once those Golden Oldies begin. As a Special
Treat, Fred Mays NNHS '60 will be there with a display of his
unbelievable NNHS memorabilia collection. Be sure to bring your own memorabilia
for display.
SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 23rd:
Saturday night, October 23rd, 7 PM -
midnight will be a more dressy affair. (Suggested:
coat and tie for gentlemen; dresses or pants suits for ladies … but above all
be comfortable and have fun). All NNHS Alumni are
invited to attend. There will be a cash bar and a dinner buffet. We will
begin with a program of memories and remembrances (and perhaps a few
surprises). Coach Warren Mitchell has accepted our invitation to attend and will
honor us with his recollections about our State Championship
Basketball Team. Also attending are Maestro James P. Wilson, Jr., and our Class
Co-Sponsors, Mr. Warren Reed and Miss Ettalea Kanter.
Other Special Guests have been invited. Then, we will dance the night away to
50s and 60s Golden Oldies played by DJ. As a
Special Treat,
Fred Mays NNHS '60 will be hosting a display of his unbelievable NNHS
memorabilia collection. Be sure to bring your own memorabilia
for display. At some point in the evening we will attempt to corral all you
Class of 1964 revelers for a group photograph and a "photo op"
for your personal photographs.
I've had great
fun today bantering with some of the gals from '65 about what we were wearing
Saturday night (I'll spare y'all
the details, primarily because they would shoot me...).

Plan B: EASIEST! - Courtesy of Sherry Mitchum Baker ('65) of VA - 10/21/04:
You may want to check out the
restaurant Mitty's which is located in the Omni. This will be the same place
where
you will be having brunch on Sunday morning.
AHA! Thanks, Sherry! Okay,
Pam - pick a plan - whether one of these or something else, I'll announce it in
the pre-dawn
hours, we can make phone calls as need, and we can also leave word at the front
desk at the Omni.
Hey, Sherry - Does this mean that you'll be joining us for dinner?!? YES???
From Dave Arnold ('65) of VA - 10/20/04, RE: "Forty-Eleven":
I heard this expression
quite often from my relatives in the Shenandoah Valley when I was growing up.
But after you reach a certain elevation in the mountains the expression sounds
more like "fortyleben".
Must be the thinner air.
Dave
Oh, absolutely, Dave! GIGGLES!!! Thanks! See you tomorrow!
From Kathy Pilgrim Clark ('63) of VA - 10/21/04, RE: "Forty-Eleven":
Thanks for the sidebar on that saying, Kathy! So it's not necessarily Southern, but it IS quite old! Research will be pending....
And thank you so much for the phone book! I really appreciate that! Have a good time on your trip - we'll miss you!
From Susan Whitcomb Harlin ('72) of TX - 10/20/04:
Hi Carol,
I had this sent to me today. . .
Susan
Thanks, Susan! That's extremely moving. I sent it off to a few of my Famous Marines.
There is SOOO
much more from SOOO many of ya'll, for which I thank you profusely, but I am
SOOO out of time now,
so I'll get to it when I return.
Y'all take care of each other. I hope to see many of you very, very, VERY soon!
Love to all, Carol

For All We Know
Words by Sam M. Lewis and Music by J. Fred Coots, 1934
For all we know we may never meet again.
Before you go, make this moment sweet again.
We won't say "Good night" until the last minute.
I'll hold out my hand, and my heart will be in it.
For all we know this may only be a dream;
We come and go like a ripple on a stream.
So love me tonight; tomorrow was made for some.
Tomorrow may never come for all we know.
<instrumental interlude>
So love me tonight; tomorrow was made for some.
Tomorrow may never come for all we know.
