As I was reading through some of the messages tonight on the birthday page
I read a note from Glenn Dye who just turned 60 in June,
and I thought, wait until you get to 62 and you look forward to that extra money from Social Security (SS). 
You think you will have extra play money and what happens?

My husband, Tom, turned 62 in May, he (or should I say WE) just received that FIRST SS check this month. 
He says, "what should we do with it"?..........
Well, I said, this month we have to pay your Mom's Caregiver services,
(she is 97, and living with her granddaughter in Franklin, TN) 
and our son is getting married on July 24th, and we are paying for the honeymoon......
so I would think that should take care of this month check plus a few more.

It's like once you get your kids out of college you will have that extra money,
........but to no avail,.........there is always something else to spend it on.

Looking forward to seeing you in October at the Class of 1964 Reunion!

By the way, am I the only one born in December........come on, guys, own up! 
I know Glen Davenport's birthday is December 10, 1944....  Angie, please verify!!

Carol, I was delighted to read people's (yes that is the correct plural possessive. I too am a grammar anal-retainer.) birthdays.
 I had a system and last weekend, I learned a new one. Here they are.

I used to say that (after a certain point) I could a add the ages of my children together
and they were greater than my number of years.
My son (36) and my daughter (35) = 71. And I will be 59 on 9/7. So I'm OK as long as their years are greater than mine!
(And every year, their column gains 2 years while mine only gains 1.)

Last weekend I was talking with a delightful French woman who is 87.
She enjoys good health, full mental faculties and I met her at a place in Williamsburg where I'd gone to hear a blues band.
Her system is to read from right to left. So instead of being 87, she'd be 78.
So I thought that was pretty good until I did my own and I'd end up at 95. That doesn't work well for me.

So I have revised my entire outlook. If your ones column number
(hang in there, math nerds, you'll get it!) is 5 or less, read right to left.
But if the one column number is 6-9, add your kids' ages. Actually, the 5 break point works for my age.
For those ten years younger, maybe the break point is 4 . . . for a few more years!

I went to Woodrow Wilson Elementary and on to NNHS with the Class of '65;
got stupid and got married, quit school in Feb of 10th grade, had a baby, got a divorce,
got smart and went back to school and graduated with the Class of '68, went on to college and got married again.
My husband of 33 years also went to NNHS -- Harold "MILTON" Nunnally, his birthday is 10/15/47 --
yes, I'm older than he is for almost 7 months and I really hear about that!
He was in the 1966 class but just loved English and Government so much
that he came back for another year and graduated in Class of '67.

I have been the chairperson for all of the 1968 reunions and have lots of information on that class--

Oh, Catherine!  You cut me to the quick!  Of course we met - more than 40 years ago!
I remember you quite clearly.
I think we even shared some class or other (okay, I can't remember what it was....),
or perhaps you worked in the office where I'd have to report often for being tardy to school.
Anyway, the point is that I like to fancy myself as Totally Unforgettable.
First Bill Gruver ('62) couldn't remember me, even though we not only were in Band together, but went to the same church.
Then Dave Spriggs ('64) couldn't remember me, even though we were both in Miss Allen's D-Period Biology Class
AND I would almost run him into the wall on the second floor every morning before B Period heading
for the band wing because of my horrendous non-existent depth perception.
(All right, David, I'll quit beating the dead horse already - sheesh!)
And now you can't remember me either.  Oh, this is just so sad, I must say!
Doesn't anyone out there remember me?
Just because I never came to school if I could possibly figure out some way to weasel out of it -
a self-induced "fever" with hacking cough, an asthma attack, an elbow ache, a big toe ache,
or my personal favorite, an eyelash ache.

Wit a minute (Old Scottish saying not to be confused with "Wait a minute" - even though they have the same meaning)!
If you really DON'T remember me, then you're not accustomed to my off-the-wall sense of humor,
nor my tendency to tease everybody, nor the fact that I'm actually too obtuse to take offense at things generally. 
Maybe I'd better back off.

I myself can't even stand to visit it, ever since Tripod took over Angelfire in mid-June

Our Band Director, Mr. Wilson, and his wife were blessed with their first child on Flag Day of 1964.
