To obtain and maintain the services
necessary for this ever-growing website,
as of 10 Sep 2003, we now have
professional web-hosting
to better serve our needs.
Of course,
these improved
services cost money.
These funds are provided
by the generous contributions
of viewers like you,
either through PayPal or
by direct mail to the Web Mistress.
Please consider a donation to keep us going.
Thank you for your support!
On 26 July 2004,
we upgraded our services
from Silver to Gold in order
to continue bringing
you the
Best of Everything.
There are now well over 500 subscribers
to the
newsletter, and I suspect
that each of you will visit the site
at least once each year.
If each one of you would donate just
$2.00 each year, the web space
expenses would be covered.
What a bargain: Just two measly
dollars a year, and you get
all these memories, images,
and even current gossip.

"To me there are three things everyone should do every day.
Number one is laugh. Number two--spend some time in thought.
Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears.
If you laugh, think, and cry, that's a heck of a day."

"When you're a little bit dumb and naïve, things
get done that
no one believed could be done."

The Alma Mater
Words and Music by
Arthur Hundley, 1937
Within these sacred walls
we stand,
To praise thine honored name,
We sing to thee,
dear Newport High,
Thy glories we proclaim.
Chorus:
Hail, hail to the Gold and Blue,
We raise thy banners high,
And ever through thine
endless days,
In triumph, may they fly.
O Alma Mater, in our hearts,
We'll often turn to thee,
And echo once again the songs
Of thy dear memory.

Ue o muite arukoo
I look up when I walk
Namida ga kobore nai yoo ni
So the tears won't fall
Omoidasu haru no hi
Remembering those happy spring days
Hitoribotchi no yoru
But tonight I'm all alone
Ue o muite arukoo
I look up when I walk
Nijinda hoshi o kazoete
Counting the stars with tearful eyes
Omoidasu natsu no hi
Remembering those happy summer days
Hitoribotchi no yoru
But tonight I'm all alone
Shiawase wa kumo no ue ni
Happiness lies beyond the clouds
Shiawase wa sora no ue ni
Happiness lies above the sky
Ue o muite arukoo
I look up when I walk
Namida ga kobore nai yoo ni
So the tears won't fall
Nakinagara aruku
Though my heart is filled with sorrow *
Hitoribotchi no yoru
For tonight I'm all alone

Omoidasu aki no hi
Remembering those happy autumn days
Hitoribotchi no yoru
But tonight I'm all alone
Kanashimi wa hoshi no kage ni
Sadness hides in the shadow of the stars
Kanashimi wa tsuki no kage ni
Sadness lurks in the shadow of the moon
Ue o muite arukoo
I look up when I walk
Namida ga kobore nai yoo ni
So the tears won't fall

Though my heart is filled with sorrow *

Main Page
redesigned 11/25/03 by my # 6 son, Dale Harty of NC
and again by me on 03/22/06
and 10/17/06, when the Site Map was added.
When the whole lower section of the
page
went nutzoidal on 07/05/07 (ARGHH!!!), I was forced to
redesign it again. I've done as much as I dare.
Well, I had, until it became unstable once more on 08/02/07,
so I reworked it again, then once more on 01/19/08.
