Marjorie L. Bray Carpini
NEWPORT NEWS - Marjorie
L. Bray Carpini, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the home of her
daughter on Thursday, July 8, 2004. Born in Suffolk, she was a lifelong
Peninsula resident. She was a legal secretary for over 49 years and was a member
of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Legal Secretary's
Association, Peninsula Organ Club and The Sunshiners. Mrs. Carpini was preceded
in death by her husbands, John Bukovich and Thomas Carpini and her brother,
Marvin 'Popeye' Bray. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Collier Sparrow
and husband, Lawson 'Buddy' Sparrow, of Newport News, Gloria Collier 'Jeannie'
Fitzgerald and husband, H.M. 'Mac' Fitzgerald, of Hayes and Suzanne Collier
McKown and husband, David McKown, of Hampton; four grandchildren, Cara L.
Genobles, Michele R. Parsons, Jason M. Fitzgerald and Adam W. Fitzgerald and six
great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on
Saturday, July 10, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be
conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with burial to follow in
Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart
Association, 500 Plume Street East, Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23452.

Carol, Jeannie & Susie, We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. My stepmother, Virginia Clendenin (deceased) was deputy clerk in the federal court downtown, and she knew your mother well and loved her. She always said "Margie is so dahlin". Please accept our deepest condolences. |

Jeannie, Carol, & Susie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I don't remember a lot about your mom, but just remember sometimes going to your house after school (Magruder). I'm sure she was a wonderful person, to have such wonderful daughters. Please know that all of you are in my prayers. |
