Charles Stanley Karmosky, Jr.
STEVENSVILLE,
MD - Charles Stanley Karmosky, Jr. of Stevensville, MD died Thursday,
November 25, 2005, at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD,
after a two and a half year battle with lung cancer. He was 62. Born on
May 31, 1943 in Hampton, VA he was the son of the late Charles Stanley
Karmosky and Elizabeth Macenka. Growing up in the Newport News area,
Charley was a graduate of the Newport News Apprentice School, attained the
status of Shipwright, and then worked in the Newport News Shipyard from
1961 to 1965. He graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Polytechnic
Institute with a Bachelors of Architecture in 1971. He would receive his
Masters of Architecture and Environmental Systems from the same
institution in 1972. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society
and the Tau Sigma Delta Architecture Honor Society. He and his wife moved
to Annapolis in 1971 where he began practicing architecture until 1975
when he established his own firm in Arnold, MD. He and his wife have
resided on Kent Island for 30 years. He was a member of the American
Institute of Architects, and was certified to practice architecture in
five states. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christine Cernik
Karmosky; two sons Christopher and Andrew, both of Stevensville, MD. His
brother Wayne W. Karmosky predeceased him in 1991. A funeral mass will be
held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at St. Christopher's Catholic
Church in Chester, MD. Family and friends may call on Friday, November 25,
2005, at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester,
MD. from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Stevensville
Cemetery in Stevensville, MD. The family requests that memorial
contributions be made to the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
