Harry Madison Worsham
NEWPORT NEWS - Harry Madison Worsham, 85, died
Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at Mary Immaculate Hospital. He was a native of Powhatan,
Va., and was a Peninsula resident for the past 52 years. An Army veteran of WW
II, he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal with one Bronze Star.
Harry owned and operated Worsham's Used Cars. He was a charter member and usher
at Bethany Baptist Church, now known as Faith Baptist Church. He loved to travel
and had a great sense of
humor. Survivors include his wife of 60 years and the love of his life, Ruth
Worsham of Newport News; three daughters, Gay Johnson and her husband, Jerry, of
Gloucester, Donna Lonce of Newport News, and Sandra McConnell and her husband,
Fred, of Suffolk; three brothers, John Worsham of Powhatan, Aubrey Worsham of
Richmond, and Earl Worsham and his wife, Janice of Powhatan; two sisters, Marie
Bowen and Lucy Shires and her husband, Bob, all of Midlothian; six grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Weymouth
Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 100 Blackburn
Lane, Hampton, VA 23666.
