A Reservation Form with event pricing is enclosed. Please complete the applicable portions and return it to us as soon as possible, but no later than September 1 in order to receive the discounted rate. Reservations received after that date will cost more, so don't delay!
We need your help in finding our missing Classmates. Please check the list on page 2.
We have scheduled our reunion for Friday and Saturday, the 22nd and 23rd of October 2004, at the Omni Newport News Hotel, 1000 Omni Blvd., Newport News VA 23606. The Omni is located just west of the I-64 and Route 17 interchange, Exit # 258. We have reserved a block of 30 rooms for Friday and Saturday nights at a special NNHS rate of $95 (plus tax) per night. You must make your reservation NO LATER THAN September 22, 2004. Call 1-757-873-OMNI (6664) or 1-800-THE-OMNI (843-6664). In order to receive the special rate, you must clearly say "NNHS 64 Class Reunion" when making the reservation. Because of this requirement, it is recommended that you NOT make these reservations over the Internet.
FRIDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 22nd: We are planning an informal party (casual attire) on Friday night, October 22nd, from 7 PM to midnight. All NNHS Alumni are invited to attend. There will be a cash bar and light hors d-oeuvres. We didn't want a loud band or DJ getting in the way of re-acquaintances and conversation, so we chose to set up our own sound system with oldies CDs, and there will be a dance floor, because no one can stand still once those Golden Oldies begin. As a Special Treat, Fred Mays NNHS '60 will be there with a display of his unbelievable NNHS memorabilia collection. Be sure to bring your own memorabilia for display.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 23rd GOLF TOURNAMENT: If there is sufficient interest, a golf tourney may be organized for Saturday. Watch Carol Buckley Harty's NNHS web page for details: http://nnhs65.00freehost.com
SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 23rd: Saturday night, October 23rd, 7 PM - midnight will be a more dressy affair. (Suggested: coat and tie for gentlemen; dresses or pants suits for ladies … but above all be comfortable and have fun). All NNHS Alumni are invited to attend. There will be a cash bar and a dinner buffet. We will begin with a program of memories and remembrances (and perhaps a few surprises). Coach Warren Mitchell has accepted our invitation to attend and will honor us with his recollections about our State Championship Basketball Team. Also attending are Maestro James P. Wilson, Jr., and our Class Co-Sponsors, Mr. Warren Reed and Miss Ettalea Kanter. Other Special Guests have been invited. Then, we will dance the night away to 50s and 60s Golden Oldies played by DJ. As a Special Treat, Fred Mays NNHS '60 will be hosting a display of his unbelievable NNHS memorabilia collection. Be sure to bring your own memorabilia for display. At some point in the evening we will attempt to corral all you Class of 1964 revelers for a group photograph and a "photo op" for your personal photographs.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 24th BRUNCH (NO HOST): After partying into the early morning, c'mon down around 10:00 for the Omni Champagne Sunday Brunch. Share reunion stories, exchange addresses, and say your goodbyes to your Classmates before departing for home. Just let us know on the Reservation Form that you plan to join us so that the Omni Staff can seat us all together.
THE OLD RUSTY ANCHOR (Class of 1964 Directory): If you wish to be included in the Old Rusty Anchor, please complete the enclosed data sheet and return it to us. We prefer digital responses, so please type your data, attach your favorite digital image, and e-mail it to: nnhs64@cox.net Of course we will also accept mail responses with a photo, which we will return to you. Even if you are unable to attend, we still want to know where you are and what you are doing, so please send us your information.
GROUP PHOTOGRAPH: We have engaged a professional photographer to take a high quality panoramic 18" by 6" group photograph of our Class on Saturday night. We will gather the Class in pose for this photograph after dinner and the Program, but before we begin dancing. While the photo will include Class of 1964 Alumni and honored guests only, any alumni may purchase a print. If you wish to purchase this photo, just check the appropriate box on your reservation form and add the cost to your total. The "Early Bird" cost for the photograph is $20.00. The photographer will mail your photograph to the address on your reservation form. Orders will also be taken by the photographer on Saturday night at a cost of $22.00 plus S&H.
