Fertitta's Restaurant
2 East Mellen Street (corner of South Mallory), Phoebus, VA

WAY BACK THEN: THEN: NOW:
"FRANK'S RESTAURANT, 1 SO. MALLORY ST., PHOEBUS, VA ---- LARGEST SEATING CAPACITY ON THE PENINSULA" "FERTITTA'S RESTAURANT at 2 East Mellen Street is owned by Anthony J. Fertitta.  He has been in business at this location since 1949." Sunday, January 22, 2006

... I stopped to get a shot of the old Frank's Restaurant ... then Fertitta's ... now Lancer's.

I saw this (postcard of Frank's Restaurant) on Ebay and wondered where it might have been located ....
thinking that it was surely long razed.  But, the angled front door seemed vaguely familiar, so I had
a look at my images of Fertitta's.  Sho nuff .... the same building.

WOWZERS!!!  Thanks, Dave!

Dave, that building does resemble the Fertitta's building. I hated to see the original Fertitta's close, I have never
eaten a better hot dog in my life. As I worked in that area most of my adult life, I frequented the restaurant often.
But only to eat hot dogs. I don't believe I ever tried anything else.

Alice's Restaurant

(Chorus)

You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant
You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant
Walk right in it's around the back
Just a half a mile from the railroad track
You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant
