We have scheduled our Birthday Party for 7 PM to 11 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Spirit Events, 12672 Patrick Henry Drive, Newport News VA.
We hope all of our Classmates will come and share in our 60th Birthday Celebration. The theme is a 60s Sock Hop, and the dress is very informal, so dig around in your attic and find those Weejuns, pegged pants, and bleeding Madras shirts … and Virgin Pins for ladies are optional. The only requirement is to be comfortable and to have fun. We are featuring an elegant and mouth-watering buffet of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres provided by the incomparable Gidi’s Gourmet Catering, which includes non-alcoholic beverages. In addition there will be a tended bar with complementary beer and wine only. (No BYOB, please. We must abide by our ABC license for the event). Following dinner, we will have a few … very few … announcements and, then, we will serve our Birthday Cake. For your entertainment, we will dance the night away to the sounds of our DJ, Susan Voss. It is highly recommended that you bring your cameras to the Party. You never know … there might be a Birthday surprise. All of this is yours for the incredibly low price of $25.00 per person … and remember that the beer and wine are included. If you require lodging, we have reserved a block of 15 rooms at the Point Plaza, 950 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News VA, for Saturday night at a special NNHS rate of $79 (Standard) or $99 (Suite) plus 12.5% tax. In order to receive the special rate, you must clearly say "NNHS Class of 1964 Birthday Celebration" when making the reservation.
