I saw this
on eBay and thought you might be interested. Mrbarney is offering
this "old" 1960's (wasn't that just yesterday?) card of what he calls the
"proposed"
old Virginia Baptist Home. How could it just be proposed in the '60's, and
already
be old?? Sigh... Where is this home, was it ever built, and if so, is it still
there,
and should we consider adding this to OOSG?

Well, it
didn't quite turn out the way it was envisioned. Some quick research found that
it opened in 1969,
and its name was changed to "The Chesapeake" along the way. It is still operated
by Virginia Baptist Homes.

Thanks, Dave! I love the way you unravel mysteries for me!
I believe that
all homes with a denominational name, i.e., Baptist Home, Methodist Home, etc.
had to change
their names in order to get Federal and State funding. I do not know all the
rules but someone out there does!

That makes sense - thanks, Jean!
